Contacts Journal CRM App Reviews

I’d like to recommend this App, BUT….

This App seemed really clever and useful in the iOS, which induced me to pay $50 for the desktop version. Then it became a big disappointment. I manage my Contacts in Groups, which were accessible in the iOS versions. But, and a very big BUT, although, you can create some kind of groups in this program on the desktop, it does not recognize the ones you have in Contacts. What’s up with that? I stand confused. I don’t like typing, editing, adding data on the iOS devices. They’re only great for accessing info on the road. So if I can’t edit, the program is useless to me. Waste of money. Wouldn’t mind if it was $2.99. Also no good trial period that I can see. Anyone found an alternative that works? If I can find the complete Group function, I will revise my rating, but, even so, if it’s there, it’s not intuitive.

USELESS 50.00 waisted wont open USELESS

Not thrilled about the idea of making it my job to continue to install every time there is an update to see if it will work with any of my machines. for 50.00 should have been finished and functioning.

How to use this app...

It has iCloud and Dropbox functionality. My experience after 4 months and multiple resetting is that the iCloud functionality is horrible. I’ve lost countless data using this feature across my devices. The success I’m having with it now is by saving and fetching off the dropbox function. Once a week I back up everything and save it. It’s not ideal, but it’s the best app I’ve seen to keep tabs on all the relationships we’re hanging in.

Crashes too often

The app has been crashing but the support team has been been very willing to help out. Hopefully, the issue gets resolved.

Fabulous sales app

I’ve been using this application now for over 3 years, and it has been a fabulous program to help me keep track of customers. It’s easy to use, fast, and I can use it with my iPad, phone, or MacBook Air. Keeping notes on a contact is important to what I do, and this program really helps me do that. I highly recommend it to anyone in sales.

Not Dependable

I really want to love this product, but I can’t! I have purchased this app on all my devices and while the layout and functionality is definately simple, it is totally undependable. Contacts tend to become duplicated as each device detects the same new contact, however that is easily managed if you remember to only import the contact on a single device. The real problem is the inconsistent sync across devices that drops data. This is extremley frustrating as notes, attachements, and tasks are lost across devices. This software cannot be trusted until this problem can resolved.

For The Price, A Well Done CRM

I have searched for a CRM for an individual and looked at I would say at least 10. For the price and functunality, this is a very good program and I’m pleased with the support team. This is a good one to buy.

Replacement for Now Contact/Now Up-To-Date

I needed a contact manager to replace the defunct Now Contact/Now Up-To-Date suite—which I’d been using for more than a decade. So far, Contacts Journal meets my documentation/memorialization (call logs/notes) requirements. However, Now Contact was more robust for my reqs: Time-Stamps and timer. Also, Now Contact/Now Up-To-Date: the former was the contact manager and the later the calendar and they were integrated—so you could setting appoints from within Contact and Contact would keep a record of all dates. I’m a wee bit miffed that I to make three separate purchases: one for desktop, one for iPhone and one for iPad. Also, I **HATE** that I HAVE to sync through “The Cloud” (“DropBox” or “iCloud”)—no option to sync within my own LAN and/or from MY server inside the LAN.

A disaster

This App is awful. Crashes ALL the time under various conditions. Syncing with icloud does NOT work and following instructions to get it to work, Doesn’t work and in the process all my file attachments have become ghosts..they are there but unable to view any longer. Complete disaster

I Really Like This App

I have been using this contact management software for about 8 weeks or so and really like its functionality. I work as a consultant and use it to manage my leads, contacts, calendar and billable hours. I love the way it syncs with iCal and so my schedule is always up to date. It is fast and easy to make enties and so it does not take much effort to use and stay organized. Thanks for a great app. There are a bug or two but nothing that is really too bothersome I rated it 4 stars but would have given 4 1/2 if I could.

Unstable. Continually Crashes

I’m running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and this app simply doesn’t work! It constantly CRASHES! DropBox Capabilities

While I find the program fairly good for a salesperson to track their prospects, customers, etc. The DropBox sync is not really a sync, but a copy. Everytime you make a change or edit on a device you have to remember to click ‘Save to DropBox’ and when you open CRM on another device you have to remember to click ‘Fetch DropBox’ if you forget either of these steps you will lose data. The iCloud works perfectly so if all your devices are tied to a single iCloud account then use it. Unfortunately I have work and personal IOS devices and I’d like to use CRM across all of them so I have to use DropBox.

Performance is meh

The Pros: The tabs for each contact are very nice to have. The ability to have a bare bones CRM with easy to use functionatility for organization for each contact is nice to have. UI is ok. could be better but it’s ok. Search works the way it’s supposed to The Cons: Meh performance. Hangs up repeatedly. Doesn’t crash per se, but when flipping through content on each contact, the program will freeze, and that’s the end of it. So that’s a sign of bad quality control. If I want to delete a contact, having the program randomly stop deleting contacts is just….weird. Group management is horrific. Like….bad bad horrific. Can I delete a group inside the program? Sure, if it’s private. If it’s public…..nope, not so much. What a horrible decision on that front. Is it worth $40? Nope. Is it worth about half that? Nope. Is it worth it if it were free? Nope. Reasons? Because a basic performance bug keeps it from being recommended at all. What good is a CRM or a contacts app, if the application won’t perform for you and requires multiple reinstallations? That’s just bad QC, so I can’t recommend it.

Good solid tool… not too complex.

This is the best simplest CRM solution that I could find for keeping notes on my clients. I like that they have a journaled view on looking at my client activity. The one thing that I wish they did have was a way to see the last time that I contacted a client. Like seeing that a client who is active hasn’t been contacted in two months. It would be good for prospecting additional business that way.

Ok App, horrible support!

I needed an app to seperate my business conatcs from my personal contacts. In the beginning, this app seemed to do the job well enough. The iCloud sync worked well… until it didn’t. In the course of reinstalling the app on a new Mac, it lost the sync with iCloud and iPhone. I contacted the customer support (e-mail only) and followed their rather convoluted instructions on how to reconnect, and it failed completely. After deleting the files on iCloud, it left behind a remnant (which a Senior Level tech at Apple confirmed - they could see the file) which the app thinks is the whole file. Syncing results in only a blank file being downloaded to the Mac and there is no way to force a new upload to the cloud. The customer support support has been useless; it takes days to get a reply, and it’s often a question about a procedure I already explained very clearly. DO NOT BUY this app untill they get their support process in better shape.

as good as ACT!

Leaving all my ACT activity when i switched to MAC was the only problem I had with making the move. Finally there is a legitimate replacement for act for the mac. and, contacts journal people are a whole lot easier to deal with than the folks at ACT sounds like the upgrade will solve the crashing problem

Easy to use no frills CRM solution that works!

I’ve always been an ACT user but 1. it’s too powerful for what I’m using it for and 2. its not available for Iphone and Mac without partitioing my harddrive. It’s a very simple easy to use application. Using the ICloud sync options happenes instantly and seamlessly between devices. I would like to see some additional functionality and fields but this is always fixable as the developers are open to suggestions. Definitely worth the download $$ to make your life as a sales professional much easier and proficient.

Awesome Product

I enjoy using Journal CRM. It is extremely easy to use and does exactly what I needed, without all the extre bloat you find in other CRM’s. I would like a web version, so I can use it on my PC, but other than that, it’s an awesome product.

Love this app!!

This app can get glitchy at times and crash, but with the recent update it runs so smoothly. I am very happy with the new update. But even with the glitches, I love the app so much, I would still use it, as it has great potential and helps me keep all my clients in order, sends me reminders on follow ups, and I love the map that shows me where in the world my clients are. This is a great app when it is not glitchy, one of the best of its kind out there. Get it you wont be disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful

This app is so helpful & simple to use. I literally would not be able to do sales calls without it. no better way to spend 40$
